Had a night out at Beamish Museum last night. A night to have an insight as to how the Victorians, Edwardians and Georgians would have spend their Christmases. Rather a chilly night thought, even with the many fires which were on the go. Didn’t want to leave Santa’s grotto….it was too cosy and warm.

Galloping steamers brings a whole new meaning to those carousels. I’ve never seen one travel so fast.

Knit and Stitch Show - Harrogate

Had a trip out today to the knit and stitch show in Harrogate.

A fabulous show with lots of ideas and inspiring crafts although maybe spend a bit too much money…..

Can’t wait for my new sewing machine to be delivered though!

It's  been a quiet couple of weeks with not alot happening. Got many hats to make for uni and a tailoring project to finish.

On top of that the rehearsals have now started for Titanic which will be staged at Darlington Civic Theatre in April 2012. Should be a fabulous show and very emotional from what I have seen so far.

It will hopefully be keeping me busy as well with  a possible contract for hats:) Fingers crossed. Should find out in the next couple of weeks for definate once we've had the first wardrobe/costume meeting.

Finale

Well what a fabulous final night we had last night. A good time was had by all, and a very good audience. Everybody finished on a high and met for after show drinks in the bar.

Excellent night and can’t wait to do it all again in six months!

Final Night

Well it’s the final night of ‘The Producers’. It’s been a long two weeks but definately worth it and had loads of fun. Gonna miss everyone……till the next show……only six months till ‘Titanic’. Can’t wait. Gonna have so much fun…..and hopefully spend time making hats.

Till then I suppose it’s uni work I have to concentrate on!

Starting to feel it now. The tiredness is really kicking in. However only four more shows to go.

Got the most amazing compliment last night from Steve, our wig consultant from London. Someone made a comment on how I was handling a costume and helping a cast member whilst wearing it and Steve commented that that was how it should be done and that he has seen some really shoddy work by dressers.

From someone who has worked in the industry for probably 25+ years on all sorts of productions including the West End, that was really amazing.

After a night off last night it starts again for another week. A fabulous show tonight. It just gets better.

Starting to feel a little deflated knowing this Saturday is going to be the last show.

At least until it all starts again in April 2012 with 'Titanic'. Can't wait for that one. A biggy with a large cast and stage set.

Fabulous

An absolutely fabulous night last night. The performance was amazing with a standing ovation at the end. Costume changes went smoothly and no malfunctions.

Did a bit of wig fitting which was a bit scary, especially since one wig is worth £4000. Alot of responsibility. Will be doing the wigs on my own one night next week. All good experience though. I feel very priviliged to be trusted with them.

Had a couple of wardrobe malfunctions last night:( Not good. A couple of hats falling off!!!! Not too worry, I am sure the show this evening will go alot better.

Good job the clocks go back this evening, going for after show drinks with the cast and crew. Should be a good night.

Opening Night

Opening night was a massive hit. Full house with rave reviews. Everything appeared to go smoothly. Don’t think anything too noticable happened.

Wednesday, 26 October 2011

Well dress rehearsal was good. Most of it went well ....a couple of hitches though....we had a number of Hitler tashes falling off part way through a song. Got so caught up in the atmosphere almost forgot it was a dress rehearsal and thought it was the real thing. Met up again with some brilliant people who I haven't seen for a while and had a great time. Roll on tonight. 'Opening night' !!
